What to expect

Get access to the Lower Belvedere to see art exhibitions from all periods at the former residential palace of Prince Eugene and at the Orangery. Discover treasures from the Middle Ages in the Palace Stables and get lost in the huge Privy Garden and the Palace Stables.

The Lower Belvedere was completed in 1716 and marked the boundary between the Baroque building complex and the imperial city of Vienna. Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt planned the Lower Belvedere for Prince Eugene as a residential building, with staterooms that illustrate the Baroque lifestyle and craftsmanship.

Admire Prince Eugene’s living quarters and staterooms, including the Hall of Grotesques, Marble Gallery and Golden Room, offering a fascinating insight into Baroque interior design. See for yourself the whimsical fusion of architecture and nature in the grand Orangery of Prince Eugene.
